There are quite many new features and improvements. There is now an amazing retina display, that is breath taking! Also there are two cameras, nicer buttons, and a slicker feel to the phone itself. Some of the new features that I adore are the "multitasking" which is where you can switch to different applications easily, Facetime, and "folders" for your applications. If you would like to see a side by side difference of the 3g and 4 than just look on Youtube, there are tons. But I am sold on the fact that it is a great investment!

Some technical (built-in) reasons to get iPhone 4:

Retina Display (literally the highest resolution display on any mobile device evvver, 640×960px)
FaceTime (the easiest way to video call, you can use it not only over wi-fi but also over 3G using a free app called Tango)
Gyro Sensor (the technology for measuring or maintaining orientation, you can’t even begin to imagine what this does to gaming or 3D advancement.)
Improved Accelerometer (a technology that measures proper acceleration, the acceleration experienced relative to freefall)
Incredibly good Camera (5 MP, 2592 x 1944 pixels, 720p videos at 30fps w/ touch focus and geotagging)

It’s just simply F-Awesome dude. You’re gonna love it.

The iphone 4 is much improved over the 3g. I was going to list them all,but clicking on the link below wil be more helpful. I’m not a big fan of iphones,but if you like your 3g then you will love this.

I have the Lifeproof ultra-slim waterproof iphone 4 case. I got it about 7 months ago and it is a very good case. I haven’t dropped it in water or actually tried to submerge it, but I can tell you that it has done a good job when I have used it in the rain. There has been no leaking at all, and it also does a good job keeping dirt and other debris from getting on the iPhone too.

Like you, I wanted a good protector, but I also wanted top be able to actually use the iPhone without much trouble. The ultra-slim design of the Lifeproof case allows me to use all of my iPhone features without any trouble at all. Actually, my wife’s Otterbox is clunkier to use than mine. If you want a good waterproof protector that lets you use your iPhone normally, then I recommend the Lifeproof. It’s a great case for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors.

The 3G is now 2 generations behind, after the 3G there is the 3GS, which is just a 3G but faster, then the Iphone 4 is the newest generation. The Iphone 4 has an amazing screen, really high resolution, a front facing camera as well as the back one, it is double the RAM of a 3GS, so it will be waaay faster then the 3G, it looks better, it can video call, multi tasking, better camera. As well as HD filming. It is a great phone, you should definitely upgrade.

i played around with the iphone 4 and here is what i found, volume buttons are different, camera is different- you can now take a pic of yourself, you can now take video and use video chat, it seems faster and thats about it
